Google to Rank Your Site in All Countries

Google to Rank Your Site in All Countries

You may not want Google to rank your site in all countries. The other day on Reddit, someone asked, “I have just added a new domain property to Google Search Console. I want to specify the country where my website should be visible because it’s an e-commerce website. How do I add targeting country and robots.txt from my new website?” A Google employee named Gary Ellis responded with, “Generally, there’s no need to specify geographic targeting in Search Console. Google can just figure out from all the other signals such as different parts of the URL or let’s say even if people are bouncing.” And then Gary went on to say, “You should look at how other companies like Amazon do things from an SEO perspective when it comes to international SEO.”

In other words, don’t take the rest of the world for granted because it can help you generate a lot of revenue. But here’s the issue. Translating and transcribing your content for every language you want to target whether you’re an e-commerce site or B2C site or a B2B site, is a bad idea. You should only target regions where you want to be helpful. Here’s why. If you expand into other regions just to get traffic but you don’t really offer great products or services or even a great experience within those regions, it’s going to hurt your overall SEO.

How you may ask? No matter how good your website is or your marketing is, or even your bounce rate people are not going to go back to your site or even click on your listings if they know your products and services aren’t tailored to them. In other words, it’s going to hurt your overall SEO.

So only focus your website, your content, your products, and your services on the languages and regions you want to target. And here are some tips when it comes to international SEO.

First,

transcribe your content. Don’t just translate it. When you want to go after new regions and languages, you have to adapt your content to what people in that region expect. With cultures being different all over the world, you’ll find that translating your content word for word just won’t work. You’ll have to customize it for each region.

Second,

you’ll have to use hreflang. Hreflang tells search engines and browsers that pages on your website are countries and languages. If you’re wondering how to use hreflang, this tool by Aleyda Solis will help you. And with this tool, it’ll give you the code that you need to put on your website. That code goes into the head part of your website.

Third,

you need to build links within the region you’re targeting. You can hire someone from Upwork who knows marketing and they know your space within that region. They can reach out to your websites, build relationships, and beg for links. It works. It’s a numbers game, but it really does work. Or if you want more skills, you want to grow faster, you can hire an agency like mine, NP Digital where we are awarded Agency of the Year to reach out and build you links throughout the whole world which we do for hundreds of clients. Without backlinks, you won’t get much SEO traffic.

Fourth,

you need to consider generating PR. PR creates brand queries, which is when someone searches for your company name on Google or your website name. This helps with your rankings and traffic. Just think about Nike. Did you know over 7 million people in the United States are searching for Nike each and every single month on Google? Less than 2 million people on a monthly basis are searching for shoes. Nike has a bigger brand than the term shoes. What does that tell Google? Nike’s powerful, people recognize them and they should rank them higher.

What is SEO An Introduction to SEO

What is SEO An Introduction to SEO

This is the second lesson of my free SEO course called SEO Unlocked. Today I’m going to be going over SEO and why it’s important. Did you know that 93% of online experiences start with a search engine?

You may think, “All right, there are these search engines out there.” “Yeah, sure we know Google.” But for a minute, just think about how many times you go on Google or search, or YouTube and search, or Kayak and look for hotels or flights, there are search engines all around us and we’re constantly using them.

Before we get started on going over SEO, there are a few things I wanted to cover: There are a lot of people saying false information out there, so I wanted to play a little fun little game called Fact or Fiction.

The first one: My industry is too hard to get ranked in.
Second one: Only big companies can do well on Google. Then I always hear, the more pages I have, the better.

Now let’s go over all five of them.

The first one: It doesn’t matter what industry you’re in, you can always rank on Google.

Now, of course, creating an account on Google Search Console and submitting your sitemap isn’t a bad thing to do. And you don’t need to spend a ton of money to win online, and that’s why I started to get into SEO.

There are three main keys that you really need to understand if you want to win online.

The first is, why is SEO so important? Look, SEO’s a process of optimizing any given search word, or term, for a search engine on your site. So no matter what time of the day or what country people are in, when they’re searching, you can be found, you’re getting that traffic, and some of it will end up converting into sales.

The next key to winning online is choosing your battleground. They dominate the search for all landscapes. So when you look at the desktop, they’re an estimated 4.5 billion active internet users, and Google’s search share for desktops is 87%. That’s roughly 8.7 out of 10! That’s an amazing result.

And just being on there isn’t enough. Your position is everything! Over 31.7% of people click on position one, according to Advanced Web Ranking.

The third key is unlocking the SEO factors to win online.

One of them is Page Speed. Every second delay means roughly a 7% reduction in conversions, according to HubSpot. So you want to make sure your site loads fast.

The next thing I want you to look at is Mobile User Experience. Look, the number of people that are using mobile devices is continually going up. So much so that Google has a mobile-first index.

The next factor that I want you to look at is Topical Content. The more detail that you go into on each page around the same topic, the better you’re going to end up ranking. Versus if you go really broad and cover a lot of random topics, but you don’t go in-depth on all of them.

Another factor is from Ahrefs, it’s all about URL Length. The longer your URL length, the lower your rankings are. So you want to keep your URL short and to the point.

Another thing to look at is Content-Length. Generally speaking, the longer your content, the more social shares you’re going to end up getting, and the better you’re going to end up doing.

Backlinks are another big factor. And as you can see from this chart by Ahrefs, backlinks have more of an impact on your rankings than On-page SEO; that’s getting sites to link to you, it’s super important.

And one thing that very few SEOs look at is the power of brand and user signals. The ex-CEO of Google once said, “Brands are the solution, not the problem.” “Brands are how you sort out the cesspool.”

These days security is a big issue as well, so you want to make sure you’re using an SSL Certificate, so that way you get that HTTPS. Because when people go to your website and you’re not using SSL, you’re more likely to get a warning.

How to Become an SEO Expert in 2022

How to Become an SEO Expert in 2022

In this article, I’m going to teach you how you can become an SEO expert.

Today I’ll share with you my steps to becoming an SEO expert in 2022. I’m going to share with you what type of mindset, passion, and love you need to have to really learn all about search engine optimization. From building your website, writing content, and getting your links out there to rank on Google.

The first thing

you need to do is make sure you truly love SEO, you wanna do it, and you wanna get good at it.

The second thing,

you need to do is set up a website. Go to wordpress.org or wordpress.com, and set up your own website. It could be a blog, could be a blogging platform, it doesn’t matter. That’s just the first thing you need to do. Without your own website, you won’t know how to implement these tactics, practice, or get good at it.

The third thing

you need to do is write content. When you have your website, if you don’t have content, you’re not gonna rank. As the saying goes, content is king. Publish content on whatever you’re passionate about.

The fourth thing

are you need to build links. When it comes to building links, if no one’s linking to your website, you won’t rank.

Then, when you take those articles, you can put ’em into Ahrefs. It’ll show you all the people linking to ’em.

On top of links, you now need to then start getting social shares.

Then, I want you to follow all the popular marketing blogs, from Backlinko to Moz, so hey, even me, neilpatel.com. All of these marketing blogs will break out the latest and greatest tactics and techniques. By reading ’em on a regular basis, you’ll learn ’em, and you’ll stay on top of the curve, so that way, you’ll do better than most people in the SEO industry.

And last but not least, be patient. You’re not gonna climb to the top of Google in a month, or even three months, or six months. It takes longer and longer each and every single year because the web is more competitive. There are roughly 1.7 or 1.8 billion websites on the Internet. That’s roughly four websites, technically one website for every four people. A lot of websites, and blogs, there are over a billion. Roughly one blog for every seven people. That’s too many sites to choose from. Because Google now says,

hey, there’s a lot of people talking about the same content over and over again, let’s pick the ones that are more up-to-date or more authoritative. It makes it that much harder for you to get rankings. For that reason, you need to learn to be patient. If you do this consistently for six months to a year, you’ll get results.

SEO Tip That Just Works Especially If You Beginner

First off, have you ever heard of the site Quora? It’s a simple question-and-answer site and it’s super popular. So popular, it’s one of the top hundred websites in the world, according to Similarweb. So how do you get that traffic that Quora gets? Well, it’s simple. They just answer questions that people are curious about. These questions are long tail keywords. In other words, they contain many keywords. Best of all, they aren’t competitive. It’s easy to rank for questions because no one is targeting them.

So how do you find these question-based keywords in your industry? Well, have you heard of a tool called AnswerThePublic? It’s a tool that shows you all the popular questions that people are asking. Head over to AnswerThePublic, type in the keyword related to your space, and hit Search. You’ll then get a list of all the questions that are popular within your space.

Now, if you want to see their search volume, you can type in any of those questions into Ubersugggest and it’ll tell you how many people search for them on a monthly basis. But before you go and write content on all those keywords, there are a few things that you need to know.

First,

make each question a unique page, assuming you have enough content to write about. And when I mean enough content, I’m talking about hundreds of words, ideally 300 plus, if you can do even more than that, like 400, 500 a 1,0000, even better. But don’t just add fluff.

Second,

you need to have an amazing answer. For example, I wouldn’t create a page answering the question of what’s two plus two, because everyone knows it’s four. And if not, they can just Google it. And it’s one word or one letter or one number more.

So which is just four, right? There’s not much content to create on that. But if I had a sports website, I may answer the question of what is it like to be an Olympian? And my answer would be very detailed. From what it’s like to train, to how long it takes to be an Olympian. What kind of diets do you have to be on? What is it like to win or even lose? And how do you earn money as an Olympian? Right? I don’t see Olympians getting shoe contracts like Michael Jordan. I would even break down how hard it is to be one. And the number of people that try and like the percentage that you’ll actually have to be Olympian. So that way it gives people a perspective on how hard it is.

Third,

you want to continually update your answers as things change. Just think of Wikipedia. It is the ninth most popular site in the world. Why? Because they keep their content updated. For reference, on most topics, there are more pieces of content than searchers.

For example, there are 165 searches a month for the term dog food in the United States, yet there are 2.6 billion results. Do you think all those searchers are going to go through 2.6 billion results? No, Google doesn’t even show them all because they know people don’t really go past the first page. Maybe the second page, rarely the third page, which means search engines have their pickings when it comes to determining what sites to rank. So make it easy for a search engine. Keep your content up to date because they’d rather show updated pieces of content versus ones that are years and outdated.

Fourth,

promote your content. You don’t have to spend additional money to do this. It’s as simple as sharing it on the social web or linking that newly created answer from some other webpage on your website that’s related to it.

Fifth,

you have to do this with a lot of questions. Now I know this is not what you want to hear but this is how you’re going to do well. There isn’t a specific number of questions that you need to create content around and you can’t really do it with five or even 10 questions because that won’t get you much traffic in the long run. But if you do this with a thousand questions or even a hundred, you’ll notice nice traffic gains, and the more, the better, assuming you can create amazing answers to those questions.

How I Grew My SEO Traffic by 300%

How I grew my SEO traffic by 300% through translations and patience. Can you guess how much of my traffic comes from the United States? Well, it’s a whopping 14.53%. Whopping, you’re like, “That’s not that much.”

There are countless examples of successful companies that have come out of regions outside of the United States.

So fast that we’re the sixth fastest growing ad agency in the world according to “Ad Week.” So how do we grow our traffic so fast through SEO? Well, let me break it down as well as how you can do it too.

First,

off use hreflang. See, hreflang is a way in your code to tell search engines that certain pages of your website are for 9k specific languages and countries. That way search engines know what pages to show up for specific users. Without that, you may have people going to the wrong section of your site.

Second,

I want you to pick regions that you want to expand to fast. We base our expansions based on Google ad spend in different countries, and the countries with the most ad spend are typically the regions we want to be because we’re a marketing agency. If people are spending money on Google and Facebook it usually means they have money to spend at NP Digital. You also may look at things like population or GDP.

Once you have the regions that you want to target, you then want to go to Google translate and type in some of the most popular keywords that you want to target in your primary language. You will then want to head to Ubersuggest and type in these newly translated keywords within Ubersuggest. But don’t forget to select the correct language and country in Ubersuggest before you click that search button. You’ll then get a laundry list of keywords that you can potentially target like this.

Third,

you want to start creating content around these keywords, and don’t worry if you don’t speak the language that you’re trying to translate your content into, all you have to do is to go to sites like Upwork where you can hire writers that speak your language as well as many other languages that you’re going after. And when they write content, it’s really important that you provide them with a keyword list. Don’t force them to use all of them because if it doesn’t sound natural, the content’s not going to do well. It just needs to be naturally integrated.

Fourth,

post the content on your site. And again, don’t forget to put the hreflang code within your head file. That way search engine browsers know what page is for what people. And once the content is up, it’s not enough. You have to promote it. So take the same person that you hired on Upwork and have them do outreach for links within that country.

So you would take a few of your competitors within those regions. If you aren’t sure who they are, just search for the translated versions of those keywords on Google and it’ll show you sites in those regions. If you put those URLs into the backlink report in Ubersuggest, it’ll show you all the people who link to them. And then from there, you’ll want to send emails explaining to them why your content’s better, why it adds more value, and why they should link to it.

And last but not least,

I want you to promote the content via pay ads. Run a bit of Facebook ads, LinkedIn ads, or even Google ads. A hundred dollars goes a long way and it’ll bring you more awareness within those regions. You combine all of that and now your traffic will grow drastically within those regions.

The Perfect SEO Setup for WordPress 8 Plugins

The Perfect SEO Setup for Wordpress 8 Plugins

-The Perfect SEO Setup for WordPress 8 Plugins,  WordPress made it easy for anyone to create a website. It’s easy to use, it’s fast, and it doesn’t require a lot of technical knowledge. Heck, even someone like me who’s not a developer can do things like SEO and modify WordPress with a breeze.

Hey everyone, I’m Pak Blogger and today I’m gonna cover the perfect SEO setup for WordPress, eight plugins to skyrocket your ratings and traffic. The question is, do you have a WordPress-based website? I’m curious, let me know what platform you’re using.

Are you using WordPress, are you using Wix, let me know. Some of the most important factors that Google looks into in order to rank your site are the following, user experience, on-page SEO, site speed,mobile-friendliness, internal link structure, and structured markups, all these things impact your ranking, and there are hundreds of other factors.

There are over 200 factors that Google includes in their algorithm, and today I’m gonna share with you plugins that’ll help you do all of these things, plus more, in a really easy and controlled way.

Plugin number one,

W3 Total Cache. Look, load time is super important, especially because people are using mobile devices now. Yes, there’s 4G, there’s 5G, you know, LTE, whatever you wind up calling it, but the problem with mobile devices is you’re in a place that doesn’t have the best reception I don’t care if you have a 5G phone, you’re not gonna load websites really fast. The W3 Total Cache plugin ensures that your site will load as fast as you possibly can. It’ll improve load times, it’ll help you connect with CDNs, and it makes better use of your server resources that way your server doesn’t have to continue to push the same content over and over again.

Instead, it caches it so it can deliver it to the user as quickly as possible, and if you have a really good hosting provider they have caching built in, but most of the hosting providers that I’ve seen don’t have caching built in, hence I’m wrecking, recommending the W3 Total Cache plugin.

Another plugin,

that you need to check out is the Smush Image Compression plugin. If you’re creating blog content, and hey, you’re on a WordPress blog, or WordPress as a CMS, there’s a good chance you at least have a blog article or two, and in that blog article what do you think you’re including? Images, if you’re not you should change that and go add images right away.

The Smush Image Compression plugin, what this does is ensures that your images still look really good and quality, so that way when someone looks at them they don’t look all pixelated and fuzzy, they still look really sharp, but this decreases the size of the image in which I’m talking about the server size, right, that hard drive space that it’s taking up, so when people ping your site it loads much faster.

The third plugin,

The plugin that you have to use is a Yoast SEO plugin.

It does everything from on-page optimization to controlling your meta tags, and your title tags. It even analyzes your content, telling you if you’re doing a good job or a bad job. creates sitemaps for you and helps with structure and markup. pretty much what most things that you need if you want to ensure that your WordPress blog is SEO-friendly.

Now look, WordPress out of the box is pretty SEO-friendly, but this plugin puts those last, final touches that are really important. Most people think like, “Oh yeah.”If I do most of the things, that’s fine. No, that used to work five, or six years ago, but SEO has changed.

Now Google wants you to do every little thing right, and when you combine them all that’s when you see the climb in ranking, the extra search traffic, and this plugin will really help you get there.

The fourth plugin,

The fourth plugin is Sucuri. If your website gets hacked, your rankings and traffic will tank, and when it tanks and you fix it it’s hard to recover. Sucuri helps you and helps prevent you from getting hacked. Now, it’s not gonna be perfect, but it’s better than nothing. The last thing you want to do is get your site hacked and lose all your traffic. I’ve seen this time and time again, someone gets hacked and they figure it out after a week or two, their rankings tank, they fixed it, and they don’t recover in 30 days. Eventually, they recover, sometimes it takes two months, sometimes three months, if they’re lucky it happens quickly. And they’re like, “Hey, my business is in the shitter.”I’m losing a lot of money all” because of this one silly thing.”Make sure you don’t get hacked.

The fifth plugin,

AMP for WordPress. This helps with mobile users. Look, if you want to rank really high you want to get in on Google News, you want to make sure that your site has the AMP framework. In other words, your tech space articles load really fast, Google just posts it on their end, they’re leveraging their own framework, and I found that yeah, in the United States by leveraging the AMP framework I didn’t really get much more mobile traffic, but other countries where mobile devices and infrastructure isn’t as good, such as Brazil, I saw a huge increase in mobile traffic by just leveraging this plugin.

The sixth plugin,

The sixth plugin for you is a3 Lazy Load. When you use images on your site, even when you compress them, it still takes time for that webpage to load. You want to make it where those images load as people scroll, that way you’re not just loading up all these images on a page and it takes forever for that webpage to load when people haven’t even started reading the content and scrolling. That’s why I like Lazy Load. If you’re on the neilpatel.com site you’ll notice that as you read my blog posts images load as you scroll. This creates a better experience for you as a user, and search engines prefer this as well.

The seventh plugin,

All In One Schema Rich Snippets. If you want to improve your search visibility by sharing rich snippets between the page title, you gotta use this plugin. It’s great, it’s simple to use, and it is one of the best things that I’ve done out there.

Now, with schema markup what you’ll find is some people are like, “Yeah, we’re gonna use”all this schema markup and use all these tags” even though our site isn’t relevant” to the specific schema markups.”You don’t want to do that. For example, I wouldn’t be using stuff on Neil Patel. com, a schema markup that’s relevant for restaurants when I have nothing related to restaurants on my site. That’ll irritate Google and it’ll hurt you in the long run, so when you’re using this be nice and kind. Don’t try to abuse schema markup.

The eighth plugin,

Really Simple SSL.90% of websites that rank at the top have SSL installed. It’s pretty much become a prerequisite if you want to rank well, so use the SSL. Now, it doesn’t have to be through this plugin.

Maybe your host provides it, maybe your domain provider provides it, whatever it may be you want a secure site, and what you’ll find is some browsers even notify users,

saying “Hey, this site isn’t secure,” and that’ll cause people to bounce back, get away from your site, and over time that could decrease your rankings. You want to make sure you have SSL, it’s that important. So, use these eight plugins, you’ll find that your rankings will start going up over time, especially if you haven’t used any of them, but when you start combining all of them it does help quite a bit. If you have any questions leave a comment below. Let me know what your question is about WordPress or these plugins and I’ll answer it.

5 Underrated SEO Lessons

5 Underrated SEO lessons. I’ve been doing SEO for a long time.

Lesson number one,

updating content frequently is better than building more links. I know you need links to rank. So if you have no links, go out there and build some.

We found that if you build fewer links but you update your content more frequently, you do way better when it comes to an SEO perspective. And when I mean updating, I’m not talking about a word or two or an image or here and there, I’m talking about adjusting that page to be the best for your users and whatever that takes, better than your competition in other words. So spend more time updating the building links especially if you’re an established website. If you’re a new website, there won’t be much content on your website, you probably don’t have many links, focus on building more links.

Lesson number two,

shortcuts just aren’t worth it. See, the sites that rank at the top, in the long run, are the ones that provide the most value, not the ones that cheat their way up to the top. Now I’ve learned a lot from this mistake and others but I had a shortcut mentality when I was young, and if I had to go back in time, I would stop taking shortcuts and I would do what’s best for users, which would’ve been what’s best for my career.

Lesson three,

it’s easier for brands to rank. One of the things that have taught me is brand queries go a long way in Google’s eyes and in their along. The more people search for your brand, and assuming a high percentage of them click on your result, it tells Google that you have a good, strong brand. And, if your brand is more popular than your competition, it tells Google that people prefer you over the competition. And as your brand queries keep going up, what you’ll find is, that your rankings also go up.

Once I learned that I focused more on building a brand. It takes over five years to build a brand, so you need to be patient, but it helps a lot with SEO.

Lesson four,

the quickest way to grow your SEO traffic is by going global. A Google employee once told me that the majority of searches on Google aren’t in English. That’s obvious, right? And it was to me at the time, I’m like, “Yeah, the majority of the world doesn’t speak English, what’s new with this.” But what she told me next wasn’t as obvious. She’s like, “Yes, Neil, they don’t speak English, the majority of searches aren’t in English, but Google doesn’t have enough webpages and all these other languages for most topics.” Once that clicked, I was like, “Oh wait, I need to transcribe my content into multiple languages.” So I started doing that and I didn’t say translating, I said transcribe.

The reason why is you have to adapt it to the local languages. Now, the United States only makes up 25% or less of my traffic due to international expansion. You should go global if you want more SEO traffic.

Lesson five,

don’t purely rely on SEO. I used to believe that SEO was the best marketing channel. And because of that, I focused purely on SEO at the beginning. Funny enough, I still prefer SEO over other channels but I don’t think it is the best marketing channel, I don’t think any marketing channel is the best.

I now take a different viewpoint. All marketing channels are great as long as you can make them work for you and drive your traffic, brand awareness, leads, and even sales. So I don’t focus on SEO, but I also don’t purely focus on SEO. I focus on all marketing channels as well as new ones that come up as long as I can make them work. And if any of them get crushed by platforms making an algorithm update, I don’t have to worry because my traffic sources are diversified.

My Favorite Type of Marketing

My Favorite Type of Marketing

– My favorite type of marketing. If you had to guess, what do you think my favorite type of marketing is? Come on, take a guess. Maybe SEO, PPC, creating social content, email marketing, push notifications, or is it podcasting?

Believe it or not, it’s in-person events. I found nothing beats seeing and meeting people directly in person. Why? Because you build a deeper connection. You’ll find that deals also happen faster than you do them in person.

But there is a lot of type of in-person events that you can go to. From conferences to meetups to local city events and the list goes on and on. I found that the most effective in-person events tend to be conferences that are ideally around your industry that have your ideal customers. And if you want to get the most out of these events, you need to be a speaker.

See, speaking puts you in a different light. And if you give a fantastic talk, people come up to you after and they’ll want to work with you. It’s a great source for generating revenue because when people come up to you, you’ll find out that it’s easier to close a deal. On top of that, when I go to these in-person events like to hold workshops after my speech.

For example,

we were at the Collision conference that I was in Toronto where I spoke and we had an in-person workshop and had people from our team walking around, meeting with clients and even potential clients. I wish we also had a booth, but we weren’t able to make that work.

Also, if you speak at events, instead of charging for speaking that some events pay, you can trade that money for a booth space and also advertising perks which get your brand out there more and produce a much better ROI than charging for speeches.

Now, just like any form of marketing, you can’t rely on just one channel such as in-person events. You have to take an omnichannel approach. What’s great is when you partake on social media, blogging, podcasting, even SEO, and all the other channels, you’ll find that they help each other out. I learned this from Expedia.

A few years ago, I was up in Canada at one of their offices and I was talking to one of their team members. And Expedia is an old company. They’ve been publicly traded for ages now. They’re a multi-billion dollar organization. And their team shed some light on a marketing set that shocked me. When Expedia takes an omnichannel approach, they find that their customer acquisition costs on all channels go down by roughly 10%because people are continually seeing their brand and hearing about them.

What’s funny about this is people already know what Expedia is. They were founded in 1996. So most people in the travel industry or who travel already know about them at least have heard of one of their brands like hotels.com, but still, by taking an omnichannel approach, their costs have gone down.

So even though I love conferences, I don’t rely on them as my sole marketing channel. Take an omnichannel approach just like Expedia and it’ll help all your channels do better.

Thank you for reading.

Top five favorite SEO hacks. To win, you have to think outside the box. If you just do what everyone else is doing, you won’t win, especially with SEO. Here are my five favorite SEO hacks that are out of the box.

Hack one,

buy websites. Have you noticed their blogs about everything? Well, a simple strategy for you to get immediate results is to look for a blog in your space. This shouldn’t be hard, as there are over a billion blogs. Look for one that has good rankings and traffic, you can find out their traffic stats using tools like Ubersuggest. What you’ll want is a blog that ranks really well within your space, and has great content, but doesn’t monetize through ads or selling products or services. Then you want to hit them up and ask them if they’re willing to sell their site. A lot of people will be like, “Yeah, sure, making no money doing this as a passion, “you can even pay them to keep blogging for you. And then what you want to do is merge that content over to your website, do 301 redirects, put them to the appropriate URLs when you’re doing the 301 redirects, and what you’ll find you’ll start getting instant rankings and traffic.

Hack number two,

ranking number one on YouTube with SEO.So YouTube‘s algorithm is the opposite of how Google SEO works. If a video does really, really well in the first 24 hours, when it’s released on YouTube, it’s probably going to do well in the long run. So how do you get your videos to do well in the first 24 hours? Not through ads, because that takes too long to get up and to run. Usually, by sending out an email blast. So when I release a video, I send out an email blast and even a push notification blast, within the first hour the video goes live, I let everyone know about it, I get tons of views, tons of engagements, and my YouTube views go through the roof, and my rankings shoot up.

Hack three,

release tools. Have you heard of calculator.net?The site doesn’t look amazing, but it has 6.2 million backlinks? Let me say that again,6.2 million backlinks.”How?” You may ask, it’s because they have calculators on everything. People love linking to calculators. If you release free tools that people want and they love, you will build links naturally, you won’t even have to send out an email. It works that well. If you can’t create these tools, you can just go to sites CodeCanyon, pop, buy the tools, pop the bubble on your website, and boom, you’re off to the races. Now the key with this strategy is to release tools for free that people are used to paying for.

Hack number four,

respond to blog comments. This one is simple, and you probably are like, “Wait, this isn’t really a hack, Neil.”But let me explain why it’s so valuable and it is a hack. Wikipedia is the seventh most popular site on the web, according to Similarweb. Do you know how Wikipedia does so well on Google? They update their content on a regular basis. Some of their most popular pages get updated daily. Their content is updated so often, and I know people are volunteering and helping out for free, but it’s updated so often that Google’s like, “Wow, this content’s fresh. We need to rank it high because it’s the most relevant and up-to-date.”So with your website, how do you keep your content updated?

Ideally, you want to update at least once a year, if not a few times a year, but that may be tough. Another way to also keep your content updated, and I wouldn’t recommend that you not do the first, so you should still try to update your content at least once or twice a year, is you can also use blog comments. And when you use blog comments, what you’ll find is that when people leave comments, and you respond to them, and you leave really thorough comments, people come back and keep leaving more comments. This produces more content and in essence, you’re updating those pages and making them more and more valuable for Google, which helps with your rankings. And when you’re leaving comments, don’t just leave a thank you, make sure it’s thoughtful, it’s relevant, and it helps people out.

Hack five,

use fewer keywords, or at least for App Store SEO. So SEO doesn’t just exist on Google, Apple App Store is extremely popular. No matter where you are, if you turn around and you see someone, chances are, someone has an iPhone, which means they also are on the App Store. But if you want to rank in the App Store, you shouldn’t shove tons of keywords in your title, even description.

Most people don’t know this, but the fewer keywords that use in your title or description in the App Store, the easier it is to rank for those terms. Just make sure that the keyword you pick keywords you pick is super popular.

It makes it way easier to rank and get higher rankings, versus going after too many keywords in the App Store, which makes it harder to rank.

7 Actionable SEO Tips That Are Easy to Implement

7 Actionable SEO Tips That Are Easy to Implement

7 Actionable SEO Tips That Are Easy to Implement, Do you want to know why it takes so long for people to see results from their SEO? Well, there are two main reasons. The first is, that it just takes time for things to kick in and algorithms to adjust. You can’t really control that, that’s just Google, right? You can’t really speed that up, time is time, they’re going to do their thing when they do their thing.

But as long as you do your thing, it’ll help you get results when you should be getting results. But there’s another reason why it takes people a long time to get results, and this one is more in your control. It’s that it takes time to implement those SEO changes. And most companies move really slow to make changes on their site and the longer it takes you to implement the changes, the longer it’ll take for you to see results. So today I want to break down seven tips that are easy to implement.

Tip number one,

everyone has SEO errors. It’s natural because as you adjust your existing pages, or even add new ones, it can always create more errors. So I want you to head to neilpatel.com/ubersuggest.Type in your URL. In the left-hand navigation, click on “dashboard” and then click on “add your first project.”Follow the steps, step-by-step. What you’ll find is that Ubersuggest will monitor your site, look at the keywords you want to rank for, and look at all the SEO errors you have on your website, but here’s the thing Ubersuggest does that I love. What it does is, breaks the errors down from top to bottom, what will have the biggest impact and what’s the easiest to implement?

So you want to fix the easy ones first because they’re at the top and they’ll also have a more significant impact on your rankings. And that way you’ll get better results in a shorter period of time.

Tip number two,

speaking of Ubersuggest, it’s also a tool that I added to my own website,neilpatel.com, and I want you to do something similar. It’s so popular that’s generated over 24,000 backlinks. That’s a lot! That’s a lot of extra links that I’m adding to neilpatel.com and it was so effective, I also bought AnswerThePublicand I’m going to integrate that into our portfolio over the up and coming months. Links are popular currency. The more people that link to you, the higher you will rank. So how do you get tons of links when you don’t have time and effort to create a custom tool like Ubersuggest?

Because when you give away tools for free, people love them so much, especially when they’re used to paying for them, that they just link to you. Well, here’s a little secret. You don’t have to create a tool like that. You can actually just go to a site, say CodeCanyon, and for $20 you can buy a tool and put it on your website and white label it as your own. In essence, you’re adding a tool to your site, without literally any coding and it builds links naturally, as long as you pick a good tool. Now, it may not be as good as Ubersuggest, but it’ll still work well.

Tip number three,

use Google Search Console. It’s a free tool from Google.Log into it and adds your website if you already haven’t done so. In Search Console, I want you to look at your traffic. Now, within Search Console, under the performance report, I want you to click on “date range,” then click on “compare tap,” then click on “compare last 28 days year over year.”This will show you what pages on your site are getting more traffic and which ones are getting less. For the pages that are getting less, modify them. Look at what terms have dropped in rankings. and search for them on Google. Look at what the competition is doing differently than you. What are they doing that’s better than you? Adjust your page to make it better than theirs and that’ll help your rankings and your traffic go back up.

Tip number four,

delete irrelevant pages that no one cares for anymore. See, over time, some of the content on your site will just get old and irrelevant. I’m not talking about outdated. I just mean straight-up irrelevant. For example, I used to have content on my site around MySpace. These days, no one cares about MySpace. It’s a dead social network. Heck, most people have forgotten about it. The easiest solution, delete those pages and 301 Redirect them to the most relevant pages that are on your website. This will help you keep your site clean and strong from an SEO standpoint. Now, keep in mind if there are any other existing pages on your site that were linking to those old pages that you deleted that were irrelevant, make sure you delete those links or change them up.

Tip number five,

write on exploding topics. One of the best ways to get traffic is to write on topics that are just about to get super popular but aren’t that competitive yet. There’s a tool called exploding topics. It shows you what you should consider going after. And I want you to start writing content on that. You can get value from that tool for free. And if you pay, you get access to more up-and-coming topics that you can write content around. Now, keep in mind that content shouldn’t just be around whatever’s popular, It should be around what’s popular that’s related to your industry and what’s related to your website.

Tip number six,

now, this is an easy one, but it costs money. Have you noticed there are a lot of blogs out there? There are pretty much blogs on everything. Well, a simple strategy that will get you immediate results, is to look for a blog in your space. This shouldn’t be hard as there are over a million blogs. Look for one that’s ranking great in your space and has traffic. And you can put their URLs into Ubersuggestto see what their traffic is and what you’ll want to do for that blog. that ranks well and has tons of amazing content, and ideally, you want to find one that doesn’t monetize through ads or any form, but just has more great content. If you want to take that blog, hit up the site owner, you can usually find their email on the contact page through tools like hunter.io, and ask them if they want to sell it. Most people will ignore you, some will say yes. If you find some at reasonable prices, buy them, merge them into your website, including their content, and make sure you do the 301 Redirect to the appropriate URL, and once you do that, it’s simple. You’ll start generating more traffic.

Tip number seven,

merge the content on similar pages. I learned this strategy the hard way. When your site gets old, a lot of times you have pages on the same topic. For example, I may have two blog posts on the topic of SEO for beginners. Now, this confuses search engines, as they don’t know which one to rank. So what do you do? You merge the pages together. You take the one that gets less traffic, based on Google Analytics data, and then you take the content from the less popular one and combine it with the more popular one. Then you take the URL with less traffic and forward it using a 301 Redirect to the more popular page. This helps solves confusion for the search engines. And in the end, you’ll get more search traffic over time.
